Bert and Ernie were lifelong friends, with very different temperaments. Bert was very high-strung, while Ernie was a very laid-back, go-along-to-get-along type of person. Accordingly, Ernie got along with almost everyone, while Bert tended to alienate people on occasion. One day, Bert asked Ernie his secret of getting along.
Ernie replied, “Oh, I just agree with everybody.”
Bert responded, “Ernie, you’re a liar!”
Ernie replied, “I know it.”
