Burial expenses
Why does the notorious cheapskate pay $5,000 to ship his wife’s body home for burial?
A man, who was known for his thrift, and his nagging wife went on vacation in Jerusalem. While they were vacationing there, the wife passed away.
A local undertaker told the widowed husband that he had two choices: he could have her buried in the Holy Land for $150, or they could ship the body back to their home country for $5,000.
After a moment’s thought, the husband requested that the undertaker ship her back home.
Surprised, the undertaker asked why he would spend that much money when you could have a beautiful burial in Israel, and the husband replied that long ago, a man died in the Holy Land, was buried there, and three days later rose from the dead — and he couldn’t take that chance!
