Miser’s dying wish

A very funny joke about the miser’s dying wish – and how his wife chose to honor that wish! Technically, she did, after all – enjoy the joke!

There was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of his money.

He was a real miser when it came to his money — he loved money more than just about anything, and on his death bed he said to his wife, “Listen, when I die, I want you to put all of my money in my casket with me — so that I can take it with me.”

His wife promised with all of her heart that she would, indeed, put all of his money in the casket with him when he died. Not long after, the old miser died.

At the funeral, the old miser was stretched out in the casket while his widow stood by, dressed in black, standing next to the couple’s best friend. When the service was finished, just before the funeral director closed the casket, the widow shouted out, “Just a moment!”

Having a shoebox with her, she placed it in the casket next to her dead husband, and the undertakers locked the casket and rolled it away.

Her friend said, “I hope you weren’t crazy enough to put all of that money in there with that stingy old man!”

The widow replied, “Of course I did — I’m a good Christian woman, and I gave my word.”

The friend replied, “You mean you put every cent of his money in the casket with him?”

The widow said, “Of course — I got all of his money together, transferred it into my account, and wrote him a check.”
