The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies – Sheryl Crow

This is simply too good to be true. Sheryl Crow speaking at the American Music Awards, made the following statement:

“The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.”

Wow, that’s deep.

Now, in all honesty, we should put that quote in context. Crow accepted her music award wearing a white T-shirt emblazoned with the message “war is not the answer” in black sequins. She said: “I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies.”

Man, I hate Karmic retribution — messes up my hair and everything.

But, as for war never being the answer to solving any problems, I think World War I (solved the problem of Kaiser Wilhelm rather nicely), World War II (solved the problem of the little dictator quite nicely), and the American Revolution (America no longer belongs to England; we’re our own independent country, free to mess it up all on our own 🙂 demonstrate the silliness of that idea.

Of course, that final line, “The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies” makes perfect sense. If we only obeyed radical Islam, we’d not have any terrorist enemies wanting to blow us up! Of course, Sheryl would have to stay in the house, never perform again, never earn money again, and never leave her house unless accompanied by a male relative, but that’s a small price to pay, isn’t it Sheryl?

A good example of how fluffy, warm, feel-good -isms don’t work in the real world. They sound nice, they don’t offend anybody, but they have nothing in them.
